It just isn't Memorial Day without a little wiffle ball

The annual Neider/Barrett/Ashton Memorial Day celebration at 123 W. Broad street was an exceptional hit, as always, this year. Although things may have been a bit more tame, the laughter, drinks and food were in abundance, and goofiness abounded. It makes me sad to think that next year's debauchery is a long 350 days away, I have no doubt that this year's memories will hold me over...
Sherm - I know it's not pro ball (or even Berg ball) but you still look fantastic!
Not gonna lie...a little creepy birthday boy. Was this possibly after Regina's "cake"?...
Tabitha had a GREAT first year out! Way to hang...

VERY interesting piece from NPR

Hey all - this is a bit I heard on NPR's All Things Considered about two weeks ago. Essentially, they are discussing the amount of relief aid and funding that Myanmar has received since the terrible disaster there. They compare current donations to Myanmar to those sent for the Tsunami a few years ago (and even now to China.) See how the amount of media coverage (in particular visual coverage) correlates to the amount of aid being sent from the US. There is also an anecdotal note about the Rwandan genocide which is disturbingly fascinating. I really suggest checking it out...it certainly makes you think:

This was my first time shooting softball, so here's how I saw it. Thoughts...

Flour Prices

This was for a story about the rising costs of flour. How are local business, small and large, being effected by the increased capital needed to successfully sustain their companies? These photos are from a visit to King Arthur Flour...

Lacrosse - REPLAY

I covered a lacrosse game last night for a section of the paper called REPLAY. Essentially it's a photo page, all about one sporting event (with the primary focus NOT being on the action). Not quite sure if this is working as a package yet...still have a bunch of stuff to edit through. Any thoughts??

Girls Tennis

My first official assignment for the Valley News: Nothing like a little moderate-action high school sports to get your feet wet!

This is for a story they are doing on the girls tennis coach, who's been there for over 25 years. Not quite sure if it works...thoughts?
Traditional...pretty boring
